Pankaj
Bhatia is an attorney with Bhatia & Associates in
the Los Angeles office branch. He is admitted to the California
State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern
and Southern Districts of California. Mr. Bhatia was admitted
to practice law in California in 2000.
Practice
Areas | Mr. Bhatia’s practice areas include:
General Civil Litigation, Business Litigation, Premises
Liability and Employment Law. Mr. Bhatia represents business
entities in wide array of industries including: real estate,
software development, nation-wide franchise operations,
consulting services and real estate. In Bedrock Development,
Inc. v. Aum, Inc. et al., Mr. Bhatia settled a breach
of construction contract litigation in terms very favorable
to his client, a Subway franchisee, based on research
and the status of the contractor’s license. In Interface
Rehab, Inc. v. SLP Therapy, Inc., claims for misappropriation
of trade secrets, unfair competition and interference
with economic advantage, as they related to the hiring
away of key employees, were settled by Mr. Bhatia in terms
favorable to client as a result of deposition preparation.
In Simpson v. Acacia Palm Apartments, a premises liability
matter entailing a multi-unit apartment building, personal
injuries to three plaintiffs were valued at approximately
$7 million. Mr. Bhatia was instrumental in settling at
mediation in favor of the client for approximately $800,000.
Education
| Mr. Bhatia attended University of California at Irvine,
earning his B.A. in Economics and Political Science with
Honors in 1995. Mr. Bhatia earned his Juris Doctorate
from University of California Hastings College of the
Law in 1999, where he was Best Oralist Nominee for Snodgrass
Competition in Appellate Advocacy, and Admissions Committee
Student Representative. Mr. Bhatia practiced Insurance
Defense Litigation with Lynch, Gilardi & Grummer and
the Narayan Law Firm, and commercial litigation with Walia
Law Offices prior to starting Bhatia & Associates.

Affiliations | Mr. Bhatia serves as the current
Treasurer for the South Asian Bar Association of Southern
California (SABA), and is a member of The Indus Entrepreneurs
(TiE).
